What it can reach

It answers from your business, not about businesses in general.

Qvi queries your live data rather than recalling something it read. These are the areas it can reach — what it offers you depends on your role and what your location actually uses.

Sales and cash

  • How trade is going for a period, an outlet, or a day of the week
  • Which products or dishes are carrying the business
  • Who owes you money and how long it has been outstanding
  • Whether your registers are closing cleanly

Stock and buying

  • What is running out and how soon, based on what you actually use
  • Whether a delivery matched what was ordered
  • What is sitting on a shelf earning nothing
  • Which supplier prices have moved against you

Kitchen

  • Why a dish costs what it does, and which ingredient is driving it
  • Which dishes have costs you cannot trust yet, and why
  • Recording waste and tidying ingredient records in conversation

Accounting

  • What makes up a figure on your profit and loss
  • Anything unusual sitting in the trial balance
  • Tracing a transaction you cannot place during a bank reconciliation

The product itself

  • How to do something in Qvian, answered from the documentation
  • Passing your feedback straight to the people who build it
Worth knowing

Qvi reports your data accurately — but data can be incomplete. If it says sales were low, the honest answer is often that a trading day never got closed. It will tell you that rather than smoothing over it, which is the more useful behaviour even when it is the less flattering one.

Questions we get

Frequently asked.

Qvi does not answer from general knowledge. When you ask what last week's sales were, it queries your sales data and reports what it finds. When you ask why a dish costs what it does, it opens the recipe, follows the ingredients, and tells you which one is responsible. The answers are about your business, not about businesses in general.

Both, within limits. It can record kitchen waste, resolve ingredient records and run routine tidying tasks. Every action is bounded by the same permissions as the person asking — Qvi cannot do something you could not do yourself.

No. Qvi only offers what your role permits and what the location you are working in actually uses. A chef and an accountant asking the same question get different capabilities, because they have different jobs.

Ask it which period and which location it used, and what it counted. Qvi reports your data accurately, but data can be incomplete — a trading day nobody closed will honestly show as low sales. That is usually the real answer, and it is worth knowing.

Qvi queries your data to answer the question in front of you. For the specifics of data handling and retention on your plan, talk to us directly rather than relying on a general statement here.

No, but being specific helps, exactly as it would with a person. Naming the period, the outlet, or the dish gets you an answer you can act on instead of a general one.
